The Stew Crew is the homeless outreach programme of Liberty Community Church. It has it’s origin in a soup station for the homeless that we originally set up in 2001 in Dolphins Barn. Since then it has developed significantly. Currently we have a team of workers who each week travel throughout the city and feed the homeless. As well as food they have been able to supply sleeping bags, clothing, toothbrushes and other personal hygiene materials. The Stew Crew have an ethos of acceptance and a true desire to help our city’s victims of homelessness. Each year the Stew Crew host a Christmas banquet for the homeless people they work with. They also act along side numerous other organisations often operating as a referral service helping to secure the homeless men and women they encounter places in hostels, housing programmes and drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres.
