Day 4

In 40 days in the word, Blog

SCRIPTURE

So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,
“Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

Genesis 3: 14-15

MEDITATION

  1. In what ways has strife come between the enemy of God and the offspring of Adam and Eve?
  2. Verse 15 is known as the “protoevangelium” or first gospel. It is here that God promises he will send a sacrificial savior to destroy the work of his enemy.
  3. How did Jesus fulfill verse 15 while on Earth in the flesh?
  4. There were thousands of years between this promise and the arrival of Jesus. What can you take away from God’s delay?

 PRAYER

“Father, thank you for the promise of hope and restoration immediately following the fall of mankind! You are a God who is slow to anger and quick to give loving kindness. May my life reflect that same value! Amen”
